The Historic Centre of Macao houses Chinese and Western communities, and has been closely associated with the lifestyles and cultural traditions of the residents. Local residents still maintain their respective unique traditions. Each year, the A-Ma Festival, the Feast of Na Tcha, the Feast of the God Tou Tei (Earth God) and the Feast of Kun Iam attract ten of thousands of believers to celebrate here. The Catholic Procession of the Passion of Our Lord, the God Jesus and Procession of Our Lady of Fátima continue to be held as centuries-old traditions. Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival, Buddha’s Birthday, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Western festivals such as Easter, Christmas and New Year's Eve, have became public holidays enjoyed by all.
