In 210 BC, the First Qin Emperor was buried on the Lishan Mountain. The First Qin Emperor Yingzheng, who created the first unified Chinese empire, died at age 50, and was buried in a mausoleum which he had begun to build when he was age 13. The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor was built based on the religious idea that the soul of a dead person is eternal and imperishable and a dead person in the nether world needs to possess all he possessed when he was alive. The layout of the mausoleum that imitates the universe and the large funerary pits put this religious idea into practice
