Mankind’s evolution is a process. Seven to two hundred thousand years ago, Zhoukoudian was inhabited by Peking Homo erectus, who lived in caves, made tools, used fire, gathered plants and hunted. They consciously chose things from nature, and changed nature. With these skills, they adapted to the changing environment of Zhoukoudian, where they lived and multiplied for hundreds of thousands of years.
