{{heritageName}} : The Mountains, Rivers, Tablelands and the Rock Art Sites

The Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape is spatially characterised by “verdant mountains facing green waters and pictographs facing tablelands”.

The rock art is uniquely associated with closed landscape units of river, cliff and tableland opposite, appearing mysterious and awe-inspiring, and the pictographs always face the direction in which the river flows. Therefore, when travelling down the river by boat, one can see the entire cliff faces on which the pictographs are located. Most of the pictographs face south, and appear very impressive in the sun.
