The Annual Conference on the Monitoring of World Cultural Heritage in China was held successfully by the China Academy of Cultural Heritage seven times from the first conference in 2013 to 2019. This year, from November 2 to 6, the China Academy of Cultural Heritage, the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, and the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, relying on the previous experience in holding the Annual Conference, jointly held the 2020 Annual Conference on the Monitoring of World Cultural Heritage in China at the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, the world cultural heritage site.
The Annual Conference on the Monitoring of World Cultural Heritage in China is intended to realize “full coverage” of world cultural heritage sites in China, build a sharing and communication platform for government decision-makers from places where heritages sites are located, front-line managers, cultural heritage administration departments, experts and scholars, related institutions, enterprises, and the public, discuss the status quo and problems of world cultural heritage protection in China, thoughts on solving problems, and directions of development in depth, take the building of China’s world cultural heritage monitoring and early warning system as leverage to promote protection and management work at places where heritage sites are located, improve the overall level of world cultural heritage protection and management in China, promote extensive participation of the public in heritage protection, and share protection results.
